Just Another Thursday

Hello, everyone. Sorry it's been so long, but I've been kinda busy lately. I've been learning sign language because one of my friends is legally deaf. Yesterday we learned lots of fun words, most of them which I can't remember. It's great to know that I'm learning a third language. One of my goals in life is to learn many different languages -- and so it's cool to finally start on my second one.
Well, first hour in school I have a class called creative writing. It's a class where we learn about writing and we write a lot. Shocking, I know. Today we were doing some housekeeping things, like talkins about when we're going to handin our notebooks and stuff like that. It's nice to have a class where I do something that I enjoy as much as writing.

On a totally different note, two of my friends broke up last night. We were talking to the boy at McDonald's (class, right?) and we were telling him all these different spiritual things and how he should turn his life around. He's been struggling with his faith for a while, and his latest girlfriend wasn't doing much to help. He broke up with her once he got home over a text message. It's not the best way, but if they were just trying to get into each others pants, it's probably better that they're apart. That's all I gotta say about that (ahaha inside joke :)).

Music and Grace

Well, today, once again, I went into work with my father and sister. It was a great time, even though I was really tired all day. I got paid for the yesterday and today, so that is always something to be thankful for. Something big that I saw God in today was music. My dad turned on his "Rush" in the car, and we rocked out. It was so interesting to hear "The Necromancer", "Natural Science", and some others, all of which have their own themes and stories. I am so grateful for all different types of music because of all the joy that it brings so many different people. "...And the [sparklers'] glare // the [fireworks] bursting in air..."

Today, hundreds of man-made bomb-like explosions fill the sky. We strangely call them fireworks. Since it's the fourth of July and all that, I suppose I can forgive it. I'm not incredibly patriotic on the average day, so today is special. Go America, we became independent of Great Britain in 1776. But what if we didn't? All of these fireworks going off just makes me think of the first independence day. America and Great Britain had just finished a terribly bloody war. Instead of fireworks going off, they were actual bombs. There were men all around dying for rights they believed in, even when they couldn't believe in themselves or their futures. I can't help but wonder what being an almost 20 year old women looked like back in those days. Would I have been married? Have children? Or would I be one of those daughters who's impossible to marry off because of her quick tongue? And never mind the fact that I could be raising a family, what about the country as...

Endangered Species

Today, I've decided that I'm going to blog more. Since I don't know what yo blog about, I'm going to type up a poem that I wrote a little while ago. It's called Endangered Species.
